TEACHING AND CLASSROOM EXPERIMENTS

The experimental approach allows us to understand how economic theories translate into the actual behavior of individuals and companies.

WHAT DOES AN EXPERIMENTAL LABORATORY DO?

The experimental approach makes it possible to test economic theories in a controlled environment by observing the behavior of participants as they face choices predetermined by the experimenters.

Curiosity: That Insatiable Thirst for Knowledge

Étienne Bonnot de Condillac

The Salerno Laboratory for Experimental Economics (LabESS) was founded with the goal of promoting research aimed at understanding economic behavior and applying experimental techniques, while ALSO fostering innovative teaching methods in the field of Economic and Social Sciences.

To promote the use and dissemination of experimental methods in economics by involving scholars with diverse scientific expertise in the fields of economics, cognitive science, cognitive psychology, and organizational behavior.

Mostly scholars and researchers, but anyone can apply to participate in the experiments. In fact, our goal is to develop and coordinate research activities in the experimental field.

Train specialized staff capable of providing the advice and collaboration necessary for the preparation and analysis of experimental data;

The plan is to organize conferences, workshops, seminars, and educational activities related to the use of laboratory methods in the economic and cognitive sciences, as well as to enter into contracts and agreements for research projects or scientific collaboration with public and private entities.
